Within the Narsingdi district, if we go little far from Raipura Thana to Meghnapar, we will find a village name Pahartoli– poet Shamsur Rahman's ancestral home. He was born on 23 rd October, 1929 in the 46 number house of Mahtutuli in Dhaka. He’s the eldest amongst the ten siblings. When he was at his adolescence, he developed a land o f poetry in his profound mind, and it was merely fertile.
